Reduce the number of versioning or disable version control

As Synology Drive Server tends to keep historical versions of the files for future restoration, and this takes up additional storage space. Hence changing the number of versions to delete previous versions would help free up space.
Go to DSM > Synology Drive Admin Console > Team Folder.
Select the desired folder and click Versioning. Then change the value to lower than 5.

I prefer to  untick Enable version control to disable it.

For Synology Drive 2.0: Go to DSM > Synology Drive Admin Console > Settings > Others > Database.
