Here in New Zealand, Kiwis have their versions of morning drink (cafe au lait, caffe latte, and cafe con leche, respectively), but they all enjoy their coffee with milk. If their main goal is to whiten their coffee, they use low-fat milk like 1%, or skim milk. If they absolutely must have something creamier, try whole milk. Rarely on occasion, they use cream but not a popular way in here.
When I was in Japan, they use Carnation ( creamer from Nestle) in general and Japanese use the term for the common noun for the creamer. It is their kitchen staple and easy to obtain from every grocery stores. Hence it is not easy to buy commercially prepared creamer like Coffee mate as only New World on Eastridge occasionally sell it and moreover is expensive compare to skim milk or cream.
However I love the way of using the ready mixed coffee style that is available in MRE as it is handy and almost the same taste but only one thing I am concerning is the trans fat. Surely I love espresso and drip style coffee too but when it comes to the busy work round, that instant one lures me to the world of transfat with the soft and casual taste.
