Used to change a engine oil at 3000km to 5000 km when I was in my old country as that was recommended by the manufacturer's manual. However when I bought a brand new Camry, I found myself very surprised to know that Toyota recommended 15000km for the proper mileage for oil change.
I had not been very comfort with that changing cycle but there have been no issue with such long mileage so now I am happy with the huge savings that could have brought to me. I also read many articles about the changing oil and now I think 15000km is the good recommendation if I do not run the vehicle too fast or long time as the dramatic rise in the temperature would decrease the life expectancy of oil.
