This device was obtained as a throw in when I purchased the awesome HP scanjet 7800. It is currently being run on my partner's pc mainly for scanning. Although wee bit slow but quite reliable device but the driver is somewhat dodgy so the setting played up yesterday with the dll issue.
The solution suggested by HP is just changing the regional option to English ( United States ) but the whole process ended up with nothing. So I tried the conventional method, aka removing the preinstalled drivers and applications and reinstalled the total set of drivers and softwares. Not it is working fine as usual.
