It is the first Borei class SSBN submarine that is built for the Russian Navy. The Russian Government has allocated nearly 5 billion rubles ( 40% of Navy's 2007 weapons budget for the completion of this submarine.)
The displacement is whooping 14720 tons and length is 170 metres and armed with 16 Bulava SLBMs that is under developing and 6 SS-N-15 cruise missiles. Just wondering why the name of the first submarine is different with the class name ' Borei'?
