Our community library here (St Heliers) is one of the best I have come across through my life and you
can get basically anything from a library(i.e cds, dvds, maps, magazines,
books. you name it). But I haven't set foot in a library in over 5 years as all the
books I want to read have massive waiting lists.
When I requested a
book via online booking system 5 years ago and I was #276 in the queue.
(it meant I had to wait at least 1.1 years for my turn to come) So if there is a book to suit my taste, I prefer to buy the book either via physical or ebook form off Amazon or Whitcoulls.
I used to be an avid library goer when I arrived here and library was my first stop for the day.
My dream at the time was to have a whole library all to myself.
Fortunately, having Google books and many e-libraries on my side now
and possession of 12,000 strong ebooks on my main PC, I can afford to
feed my appetite for books any time, any place just like I have my own
library.
