Hobbits are back in town for the photoshoot to mark the ten-year anniversary of he first film in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Fellowship of the Ring.
I loved the books and have several editions but I actually prefer the films. Peter Jackson imagined them better than I ever could and of course, New Zealand is Middle Earth in person.
I believe the character who was the most important, memorable and poignant for me was poor Gollum. Not a hero , just a tortured, obsessed soul.
Let's face it, without him the ring would never have been destroyed.
