Reckless Endangerment by Gretchen Morgenson and Joshua Rosner
I think this is a book that takes time to read but is very informative and makes one wonder how the "big boys" still get away with it. Not only do the rich get richer but the rest of us pay for their so called mistakes. Collusion, deceit and fraud are mild adjectives when it comes to seeing what our government leaders on both sides of the aisle, and our Wall Street banks and rating agencies did to make a mess that no one has been held accountable for. If the imaginary Jean Valjean went to jail for sixteen years for stealing a loaf of bread to feed his sister and niece, how are our brilliant businessmen and women, and our political leaders free to continue looting us? Toss them in jail and throw the key away. The real Valjeans of our society are treated as badly as Jean himself while we continue to canonize the greedy.
