My colleague's son was telling him a story about a friend of his who had to walk a long way home after Rhythm and Vines a couple of weeks ago as he had run out of petrol. My colleague teasingly asked why he hadn't use his thumb (as in hitching). His son tersely replied, 'His phone was flat'. I guess it's a classic sign of the times.
