The New Digital Age by Eric Schmidt and Jared Cohen

I think internet is the largest field experiment involving digital anarchy in modern history. I believe it actively helps to relocate the concentration of power away from states and regimes and to transfer it to the independent individuals. However states and regimes especially, rogue ones, might well take advantage of the permanent footprints we leaves through connectivity to our detriment. Should the technology stand neutral, it would be up to us again to use it to dramatically enhance our capabilities or to exploit others to the full. Hence the two separated worlds: the physical and the virtual will be undoubtedly intertwined, with lingering effect on each of them caused by the other. The authors reasonably foresee that from the existing two billions who are currently connected, which represent the future digital middle class, we should expect most of the technological innovation.
