Street Justice
A couple of weeks ago, my workmate hit a pedestrian crossing at the most dangerous and busy part of the road. She was turning in so the impact was not great and the pedestrian was not injured. She did everything correctly, except notice this person standing in the middle of heavy traffic and ready to sprint across. There was a controlled crossing around 30m down the road. The pedestrian apologised to her for his stupidity and accepted all responsibility for causing the accident, but an ambulance had been called and the police prosecuted her to be eventually fined and disqualified for six months. I think if we are driving, we are responsible not only for our safety as well as actions but also those of everyone involved. Yeah right.
