Sadly Samsung Galaxy Note 2 users are still using Android KitKat 4.4.4 and are waiting for the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update. There are rumors that Samsung is processing the release of Android Lollipop 5.1.1 for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 users. Numerous mid-range devices from Samsung are already running on Android Lollipop 5.1.1, making it a possibility for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 users to get this upgrade soon.
Rumors claimed that Samsung will roll out this upgrade after the release of Android Marshmallow upgrade on or after Sept. 29. It is also rumored that Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will skip the Android Lollipop 5.0, 5.0.1, 5.0.2, and the 5.1 versions, and will directly jump to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
I think Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will bring a lot of notable features and improvements in the device. The Material Design will be improved, it will include more animations and the notifications tab will sport more options. Android Lollipop 5.1.1 will also add the feature of device sharing and device syncing, along with many security patches. The stage fright bug will also be fixed for once and for all.
