On Mitchelson Street between Ellerslie Racecourse and the Southern Motorway, a line of mature trees was planted under power lines. They grew and of course gradually began covering the lines, so were regularly pruned over the years, no doubt weakening their structure. A short time ago professional tree removal experts took the trees away and ground out the trunks. Absolutely unbelievably, a new line of trees has been planted in the same place below the electric power lines.
