We attended the movies at the St Lukes Shopping Centre some while ago. On leaving the building, I noticed that the exit sign, which read EXIT in every other building that I can think of, actually read something like EGRESS POINT. I wondered when was the last time that we used this legalese 'egress' in an everyday conversation.
