This is an aircraft that flies incredibly well, and shoots beautiful still pictures and amazing 4K video. For me, the wifi control link works perfectly out to over 300 meters far enough as it's hard to even see the drone. It's a perfect upgrade for me as I previously had a cheap JJR 20. The flying and controlling is very smooth, and fairly forgiving. The remote is solid, and offers crisp controlling ability. The built in phone mount fits my Galaxy 6 edge as well as my Galaxy A8.0 tablet.
The video quality yielded by the 4k camera and built in gimbal is phenomenal. It allows for us to create cinematic clips that will wow a lot of people. My first few video and photo shoots were put together to make very elegant trip videos.
The only issue I've had, was that out of the box mine didn't fly due to "IMU Error" on takeoff. Supposedly we can fix this by calibrating the IMU, but the IMU just would not calibrate. This is a known problem with some P3 4K models, and the fix is to update the firmware, but the DJI Go app does not seem to update the firmware for the P3 4K. I managed to get flying by downloading the firmware manually from DJI.
I then copied this .bin file onto the MicroSD card that goes in the drone's camera, started the drone, and it successfully went into firmware update mode for 20 minutes, and ended in successful update mode. Afterwards, my Phantom 3 4K was able to calibrate the IMU successfully, and I was able to fly and take awesome video!
