There are two ways to drive between Queenstown and Wanaka, and I believe this is the highest main road in New Zealand and we had to climb it with a lot of snow on both road sides. Luckily, snow on the road was almost gone, it was fairly pleasant to drive the road over the range, known as the Crown Range Road. It reaches an altitude of 1121 metres, which does bring challenges. In winter, the road is often covered in snow and ice, making for extremely stressful driving situations.
When we managed to finish the harsh driving conditions, a beautiful rainbow suddenly appeared in the sky. It looked simply stunning.
