How to Stop Youtube Autoplay Videos on Firefox

Whenever I enter a Youtube channel and only to see an annoying video automatically play so I wanted to disable videos from playing automatically with several addons but ended with no success.

In short, I succeeded in using the Firefox Configuration Editor aka about:config which lets us fine-tune our surfing experience in their browser. One of the options it provides is disabling autoplay videos completely.
In the search bar at the top of the screen, type in “about:config” and press ‘’Enter.’’
Click “Accept the Risk and Continue.”

Type “autoplay” in the search bar.

This is the list of preferences and their supposed values:
media.autoplay.default = 5

media.autoplay.blocking_policy = 2

media.autoplay.allow-extension-background-pages = false

media.autoplay.block-event.enabled = true

If you don’t want to bother with the Firefox Configuration Editor, go to “Privacy & Security.” Scroll down to the “Permissions” section. Click “Settings” next to “Autoplay.” Click on the small arrow button and select “Block Audio and Video.”
