At the Palmers Remuera on this afternoon several people bought polka dot plants and I thought I would write up a blog on the plants as I also have one on my fridge.
Polka dot plants are Madagascar native and had not started off as a house plant until people realised that they were a perfect plant for the house garden or indoor plants. Polka dot plants have either pink or white dots/blotches on green leaves that is the one I have. I think Polka Dot plants are a great addition to the shade garden.
The name " Polka dots" comes from a pattern consisting of an array of filled circles, generally equally sized and spaced relatively closely in relation to their diameters. Of course, the pattern is named for the dance of the same name. I think the pattern is pretty much fashionable.
