I think the author was obviously digging pretty hard, to put this story together, which did not add to the luster of his previous books, and we certainly didn't need another prequeal.
This was a three time put down/pick up book for me, which just monotonously droned along on a meandering path, and unfortunately there is no strong desire to discuss it further.
