I was a tab bemused to know that it is not illegal to grow opium poppies in New Zealand. As it is a breach of law to do the same thing in my old country, I might give it a go with planting opium poppies.
I believe them one of the most beautiful flower in the world and really love their colours range from a deep burgundy, wine,through to a dark dusky pink. There are some vendors who are selling those tiny seeds at reasonable price on Trademe.
However it indeed is a breach of law to extract the essence of opium from poppies.
